Estancias of Argentina

In the early 20th century, a select few daring European pioneers loaded their wagons and headed south from Bariloche through a wild frontier plagued by fierce winds and frequent blizzards and ridden with pumas and outlaws. The goal… to find a piece of property far from it all where they could build a ranch and live a life filled with peace, divinity, and, most of all, freedom. And they did, settling on massive chunks of land and establishing cattle and sheep ranches throughout southern Argentina. These breathtaking ranches in Argentina’s deep south are often referred to as the Estancias of Patagonia.

This private Patagonia road trip itinerary is perfect for the independent adventurer with an appreciation for traditional culture and a love for wide open spaces. We have included a 4×2 rental vehicle during your time in Patagonia and a hand-selected assortment of locally-inspired boutique hotels and stunning estancias that capture the traditional essence of Argentina – and specifically the gaucho heritage!
